This 7 day tour is great for people who wish to experience as much as they can as they journey from Christchurch to Queenstown. Begin with the renowned TranzAlpine scenic train, then there is time to explore the west coast glacier regions, the alpine-adventure town of Queenstown and the breath taking Milford Sound.

Daily departures
Day 1: Arrive Christchurch
On arrival you will be met by a private driver and delivered to your Christchurch accommodation.
Day 2: TranzAlpine train to Greymouth then to Franz Josef
Considered one of the worlds great train journeys, the TranzAlpine climbs into the Southern Alps before descending through lush beech rainforest to the West Coast. You will then board an InterCity coach to Franz Josef.
Day 3: Free day to explore the Glaciers
We suggest you take a guided walk through regenerating rainforest alongside the Waiho Riverbed, following the path of the glacier as it winds its way through the landscape. You might like to finish your day with a soak in the Glacier Hot Pools. Nestled within the lush rainforest surrounds, this is a haven of tranquility.
Day 4: Franz Josef to Queenstown
Today you will journey down the West Coast through Fox Glacier, Haast and Makarora. You will notice the landscape changes as you head into the interior of the South Island. There is a short 10 minute stop at pretty Wanaka then it is on to Cromwell onthe shores of Lake Dunstan before arriving into picturesque Queenstown.
Day 5: Explore Queenstown
Although celebrated as New Zealand's ‘adventure capital’ Queenstown offers far more than a fast paced action-packed holiday. Settled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu beneath a soaring panorama of the Remarkables Mountain Range, this alpine town is surrounded by a plethora of historic, gastronomic and scenic wonders. Take a leisurely lakeside stroll or ride the gondola for breathtaking views. Venture further afield into the Fiordland National Park or head over the Crown Range to Wanaka. Drive through Lord Of The Rings country - or for the really fanatic, jump aboard one of many dedicated LOTR tours.
