The Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track, situated in the South West corner of the South Island is part of Fiordland National Park, dominating the landsceape from Lake Hauroko to Te Waewae Bay.
This guided walk provides bush, coastal and sub-alpine scenery. The track is New Zealand's newest walk with two new back country huts, one of which is an old historic sawmilling village. Three massive wooden viaducts, the largest at 36m tall, are a fascinating feature.
This is a challenging walk required a moderate to high level of fitness, but packs are carried by helicopter so you can enjoy the trek.
